Green Initiatives

Seventh Mountain Resort Mission Statement: To create fun filled memories with a commitment to personalized service in a pristine natural setting.

Seventh Mountain Resort Green Initiatives program is a focused endeavor where environmental sustainability goes hand-in-hand with luxurious comfort and superb service. The resort is committed to eco-friendly practices and green products, and believes that these may help create a healthier world. The resort considers itself a Steward of the forest and invites you to join in this commitment to social responsibility. Our standard Oregon eco-friendly actions and amenities at Seventh Mountain Resort include:

  • The property heating and cooling is provided by a natural water source from a deep well. This system reduces our dependence on fossil fuels.
  • Efficient lighting and water fixtures throughout the Resort
  • Linen and towel re-use program, which dramatically reduces water and energy use by 25%.
  • Eco-friendly bath amenities in guest rooms
  • Ceramic mugs made available to minimize use of paper cups
  • All cleaning agents and chemicals used to clean guestrooms are non-toxic, environmentally safe products.
  • All usable hotel items are donated to local non-profit organizations (furniture, mattresses, artwork, equipment, a/c units, refrigerators, linens and towels, lost-and-found items, wall coverings, etc.).
  • Donation of unused and partially used amenities to community programs
  • Office paper is printed on both sides of recycled copy paper. We use recycled toner. The effort is to move to paperless, using Internet-based reports to reduce paper waste.
  • Our extensive recycling program helps the hotel recycle most of our waste.
  • Guest recycling receptacles have been placed in all guestrooms so that guests also can recycle. Articles that can be placed in recycling containers are:
    • Aluminum Cans
    • Tin Cans
    • Glass Containers
    • Plastic Bottles
    • Newspaper
    • Magazines
    • Paper
    • Flattened Cardboard Boxes
